Rue Haya Modest Fashion for the Woman Between Worlds

Ruehaya is a Palestinian-American-Canadian modest fashion brand that designs abayas, modest dresses, prayer gowns, hijabs, and everyday modest essentials for women in the USA and Canada. The name tells our story: Rue means "street" in French, and Haya means "modesty and self-respect" in Arabic — two words from different worlds that found each other, just like us.

Rue Haya Modest Fashion for the Woman Between Worlds

We create clothing that does not ask you to choose between modern and modest. Between faith and fashion. Between who you are on the inside and how you show up in the world.

This is everything you need to know about Ruehaya — who we are, what we make, what we stand for, and why thousands of women across North America trust us with their wardrobes and their values.

The Ruehaya Story: Where It Started

Some brands start with a business plan. Ruehaya started with a feeling.

We are a Palestinian-American-Canadian family, shaped by cities, airports, languages, and transitions. Growing up across continents taught us that identity is not one thing — it is layered. It evolves with you, but it also grounds you. And through all of that movement, one thing stayed consistent: the desire to dress in a way that felt true. Not performative. Not forced. Not split between "modern" and "modest." Just whole.

That tension is where Ruehaya was born.

We believed something that was not reflected in the world of modest fashion at the time: that modest clothing for women should never feel limiting. It should feel natural, elegant, and aligned with both faith and personal style. A woman should not have to choose between dressing modestly and feeling confident in what she wears.

For us, modesty is not only about how you are seen. It is about intention. About presence. About feeling aligned in the moments that matter — including the quiet ones, like standing in prayer.

Working with our production partners in Egypt, we began building slowly. Not rushing. Not chasing trends. Paying attention to fabric, to fit, and to how a modest dress, an abaya, or a prayer gown moves when a woman steps into her real life — not a styled version of it.

Every piece became a decision, not just a product.

What Ruehaya Creates: Our Collections

We design for the woman getting dressed in minutes before stepping into a full day. The one balancing work, family, movement, and responsibility. She does not want to overthink her outfit — but she still wants to feel put together, modest, and confident.

Modest Dresses

Flowy modest maxi dresses designed for both everyday wear and special occasions. From casual A-line cuts in breathable cotton to elegant satin pieces for festival and formal events. Every dress is full-length, long-sleeved, and designed to provide complete coverage without sacrificing style.

Abayas

Open and closed abayas that layer effortlessly over your existing wardrobe. We offer satin abayas for special occasions, lightweight nidha abayas for everyday wear, embroidered pieces for festival and celebrations, and travel-friendly abayas that fold small and resist wrinkles.

Prayer Gowns & Prayer Sets

Lightweight prayer gowns that feel soft, breathable, and comfortable during prayer. One-piece prayer dresses with integrated hijab for instant coverage. Two-piece prayer sets with matching head covering and skirt. Satin prayer gowns for festival, and special occasions.

Hijabs

A curated collection of hijabs in chiffon, jersey, modal, and satin — in timeless tones and seasonal colors that complement, not overwhelm. Designed to pair beautifully with our dresses and abayas.

Matching Sets & Essentials

Modest co-ord sets, inner dresses, and wardrobe essentials that move with you from day to evening. Pieces designed to work together and build a modest wardrobe with intention, not excess.

How We Design: The Process Behind Every Piece

We are not a fast fashion brand. Every Ruehaya piece goes through a process that is both intentional and personal.

Our pieces begin with our own designers, who develop each silhouette with modesty, movement, and real-life wear in mind. From there, we go through a detailed fabric selection and fitting process — testing how each material feels, falls, and wears throughout the day.

Every piece is refined through multiple fittings to ensure comfort, coverage, and ease.

Once finalized, our designs are brought to life through in-house tailoring and skilled craftsmanship in Egypt. Each garment is cut, stitched, and finished by experienced artisans whose attention to detail turns every design into something lasting.

Before anything reaches you, we ask one simple question: would someone actually live in this? Because we are not interested in clothing that only exists for a photo. We are interested in clothing that becomes part of your life.

Our Fabrics

We focus on fabrics that breathe, cuts that do not fight the body, and pieces that feel as good as they look. You will find timeless tones — black, off-white, sage, rosewood — alongside soft seasonal colors. Nothing loud. Nothing forced. Just pieces you can return to again and again.

Our Design Philosophy

Modesty, for us, is not a category. It is a language. And like any language, it can be expressed in many ways. Some days it looks structured and refined. Other days it flows — soft, effortless, and light. Sometimes it leans into contemporary silhouettes. Sometimes it draws from tradition. And often, it sits naturally in between, where comfort, elegance, and intention meet.

Ruehaya Cares: Beyond Clothing

It would be easy to say fashion is the focus. But that would only be half the truth.

Ruehaya was never meant to stop at clothing. From the beginning, we understood that if a brand is connected to people, it also carries responsibility toward them. Not as a campaign. Not as a moment. But as something continuous.

That is how Ruehaya Cares began — not as a separate initiative, but as a natural extension of what we believe: that what we receive is not meant to stay with us alone.

What We Have Done

Jannah Everlasting: We contributed 50 gift items from our collection to a sisters-only Quran gathering hosted by the Institute of Knowledge. An evening centered around reflection, recitation, and connection between women who came together in sincerity.

Winter Donations to Gaza: Clothing donations reaching families in need during a difficult season. There is something humbling about knowing that something once packed in a warehouse becomes something warm on a child's shoulders somewhere far away.

The Closet in Houston: We supported this community initiative, creating a space where women could choose modest clothing in a setting that feels welcoming, dignified, and free. Not charity in the distant sense, care in a personal one.

These moments are not marketing stories. They are reminders that a brand is not only what it sells, but what it stands beside.

Where We Ship

Ruehaya ships across the United States and Canada with reliable delivery. Free shipping is available on orders over $120.

Whether you are in New York, Toronto, Houston, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Montreal, Calgary, or any city in between — your order arrives at your door with care.

Our Promise

The Ruehaya woman does not follow trends blindly. She takes what resonates, leaves what does not, and builds a wardrobe that reflects her values. She chooses quality over excess, intention over impulse. And she dresses with purpose — not for attention, but for herself.

We are not here to define modest fashion. We are here to expand what it can look like.

Because on every street, there really is a story waiting to unfold. We just want you to feel like yours makes sense in what you wear.

Your street. Your story. Your way of walking through it

Frequently Asked Questions

Solid, neutral colors like black, navy, or white work best, since they coordinate with almost any gown color and keep the focus on your cap, cords, and stoles rather than a competing pattern.

For occasions like Eid or a wedding, ordering a few weeks ahead gives enough buffer for sizing questions or custom sizing requests, especially if you're choosing a popular style that may sell out in certain sizes

Fabrics with some movement, like chiffon or soft crepe, tend to photograph beautifully without looking stiff, while still holding their shape well enough for a polished look in photos.

Yes — if the daughter wears hijab, choosing a hijab color that echoes a tone from the dresses ties the whole look together without needing the dresses themselves to match exactly.

Solid colors or small, subtle prints generally coordinate more easily and photograph better than large, busy florals, which can compete with each other when worn by two people at once.
