Ruehaya is a Palestinian-American-Canadian modest fashion brand that designs abayas, modest dresses, prayer gowns, hijabs, and everyday modest essentials for Muslim women in the USA and Canada. The name tells our story: Rue means "street" in French, and Haya means "modesty and self-respect" in Arabic — two words from different worlds that found each other, just like us.

We are a Palestinian-American-Canadian family, shaped by cities, airports, languages, and transitions. Growing up across continents taught us that identity is not one thing — it is layered. It evolves with you, but it also grounds you. And through all of that movement, one thing stayed consistent: the desire to dress in a way that felt true. Not performative. Not forced. Not split between "modern" and "modest." Just whole.

That tension is where Ruehaya was born.

We believed something that was not reflected in the world of modest fashion at the time: that modest clothing for Muslim women should never feel limiting. It should feel natural, elegant, and aligned with both faith and personal style. A woman should not have to choose between dressing modestly and feeling confident in what she wears.

For us, modesty is not only about how you are seen. It is about intention. About presence. About feeling aligned in the moments that matter — including the quiet ones, like standing in prayer.

Working with our production partners in Egypt, we began building slowly. Not rushing. Not chasing trends. Paying attention to fabric, to fit, and to how a modest dress, an abaya, or a prayer gown moves when a woman steps into her real life — not a styled version of it.

How We Design: The Process Behind Every Piece

We are not a fast fashion brand. Every Ruehaya piece goes through a process that is both intentional and personal.

Our pieces begin with our own designers, who develop each silhouette with modesty, movement, and real-life wear in mind. From there, we go through a detailed fabric selection and fitting process — testing how each material feels, falls, and wears throughout the day.

Every piece is refined through multiple fittings to ensure comfort, coverage, and ease.

Once finalized, our designs are brought to life through in-house tailoring and skilled craftsmanship in Egypt. Each garment is cut, stitched, and finished by experienced artisans whose attention to detail turns every design into something lasting.

What We Have Done

Jannah Everlasting: We contributed 50 gift items from our collection to a sisters-only Quran gathering hosted by the Institute of Knowledge. An evening centered around reflection, recitation, and connection between women who came together in sincerity.

Winter Donations to Gaza: Clothing donations reaching families in need during a difficult season. There is something humbling about knowing that something once packed in a warehouse becomes something warm on a child's shoulders somewhere far away.

The Ramadan Closet in Houston: We supported this initiative organized through IslamInSpanish, creating a space where new Muslims could choose modest clothing in a setting that feels welcoming, dignified, and free. Not charity in the distant sense ,care in a personal one.
